Poverty In Israel
צוות מקצועי | 20 בספטמבר 2019ISRAEL: A NATION STRUGGLING WITH POVERTY
Modern day Israel is a young nation. It was reborn in 1947. It is undergoing a crisis in poverty that is worse than the poverty in Chile or Mexico! About 31% of people in Israel live in poverty. It is an economic dilemma because Israel taxes the wealthy, and there are revenues in the coffers. The problem lies in the distribution of allowances. In net terms it actually ranks as the second poorest nation in the OECD, a 34 nation economic development organization. It has a poverty level greater than Mexico and Chile! That fact really hits home!
PLEASE SUPPORT ISRAEL!
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they that love thee shall prosper. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will say now, peace be within thee. For the sake of the House of the Lord our God I will seek thy good."
– Psalm 122
Now, there are some groups in Israel that are definitely affected by poverty. Israel's program of allowances appears to be insufficient in terms of ending poverty. It only has about a 30 per cent influence on distribution of allowances, whereas other nations have a 60% distribution rate. Another, causation of poverty in Israel is the low participation in the job market by two groups. In 2011, only 48 per cent of Ultra Orthodox Jewish men participated in the labor market. Insofar as Arab- Israeli women, only 28 % participate in the job market! The problems are that Arab-Israeli women have cultural restrictions on employment, and the Ultra Orthodox Jewish men are devoted in studying the Holy Scriptures. The theocratic influence of religion on the economic job market is challenging.
YOUR DONATION COUNTS SO MUCH: CHILDREN ARE SO MUCH IN NEED!
Child poverty in Israel is among the worst in developed technological nations. Israel child poverty places it at the top of UNICEF's Children Emergency Fund. There is great disparity in terms of health services, education, and income. Children often go to school hungry, lack the resources for dental care, and paying for school textbooks. The problem is turning into generational poverty.
